Gentleman's establishments are a mystery to me
They are (so I'm told) filled with plain-looking ladies who need a damned good wash, and whom seem to have gotten the gig by virtue of being willing to show as much of their internals as possible.

To add to this, there's a general sense of menace in such establishments where you always feel as though you're seconds away from getting beaten to a pulp in the alley by the over-enthusiastic bouncers.

You can go from £0 to -£500 in less than half an hour by drinking some of the foulest 'champagne' ever concocted while chatting to east European women who barely have a grasp of the English language.

To top it all off, you leave frustrated.

The ones I've been to have been great.
But then I generally only go for high-end stuff anyways - I don't like to mix with the prolitariat, because they're stupid, smell, and are generally rather ugly and boring.

Depends where you go
Last time I visited one of these establishments was as part of a stag night where we were dressed as nuns. Bouncers and girls alike were extremely friendly, beer was priced around £4 a pint and only the best man and groom-to-be spent any real money as they wanted private dances out back. The girls were really rather attractive and the atmosphere wasn't threatening at all.

I'd tend to agree
although I have only been to a couple in the UK, and they were OK. These were strip joint, no ripoffs, but the women weren't what you'd call supermodel material.

Best one I have ever seen is a place called cafe photo in Sao Paulo. Big modern club, restaurant area, with about 200 really top class women mingling around. No dicking about, you want, you pay, you get.

Very popular with European bankers, and the F1 teams.
