I think Brosnan's films (however much I may detest him) did a fairly good job of combinign the two (Goldeneye especially).
QoS went far too far in the wrong direction and as a result was VERY dissapoitning

And I like the Connery/Craig approach.
I want Bond to look like he could give you a good thrashing.
I do miss the slight silliness though, but i hope it never goes back to the Moore level of it...

tahat is the great forgotten Bond film.
Moore is excellent in that, and it's got some, still superb, action
