I completely agree with you therebut the problem is that when a few people start doing it, more quickly tend to follow, because it's quick and easy and fun to do. Then the board tends to fill up with them all day, at least that's what happened before.
I'm not saying this will happen now, I'm just saying I think that's why people are sometimes less than welcoming when there are mutiple photo threads posted on /board

I always threw mine into existing threads so no one's work got shunted off the board; and still do from time to time
