# Television is dead!
Buy a decent computer monitor and stay on the internet

# I have this for my desktop:
Dell 2209WA

Excellent purchase, although it seems to have gone up in price a lot since I bought mine
(, Tue 3 Aug 2010, 13:05, archived)
# £316 !!!!!!
I hope to buy a new pc before Xmas but want 1920*1080 to view my camcorder footage.
I'm considering this monitor www.amazon.co.uk/Iiyama-E2710HDSD-B1-display-widescreen-speakers/dp/B00337P71O/ref=sr_1_17/278-8030551-3233260?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1280837806&sr=1-17

# It was about £200 when I bought it, but it's a damn good quality screen, tons of features as well
(, Tue 3 Aug 2010, 13:56, archived)
# the massive apple cinema screens or whatever they call them
they're lovely. absurdly expensive, but lovely.

i'm going to save up a fortune and then spunk it all on a mac pro with a massive, massive cinema screen, and then sit happily in my penury.

edit: store.apple.com/us/product/M9179LL/A?fnode=MTY1NDA5OQ&mco=MTA4MzU1OTQ fuck me, $1,800 for a monitor??
(, Tue 3 Aug 2010, 13:06, archived)
# That one's being discontinued now
They're replacing it with a 27" version of this from what I hear
(, Tue 3 Aug 2010, 13:17, archived)
# Hmm
I was going to say "pity" but actually I don't really need a 30" monitor, I think a couple of 27" inchers is more than enough to me.

/insert obligatory cock jokes here

Also I just souped up the current soon-to-be-replaced-if-we-believe-the-rumours Mac Pro to the hilt but without all the pointless software packages. About £12,000. Not $12,000 but £12,000. That's quite a bit of money.

# Yeah the 12-core anticipated one will probably be even more costly at top spec
I wonder how many people have bought the £12000 one
(, Tue 3 Aug 2010, 13:55, archived)
# 74
but one returned it the next day because it was too heavy to use on the train
