Oh it can.The WiiWare one is pretty special. But, MANY MOONS ago on the C64, a cloned called "bug bomber" was better. It was just like bomberman, but holding down the bomb-laying fire button for different intervals produced "eggs". There were 6 levels of bomb/egg.
1 - Press fire once, gives a bomb as normal.
2 - Press it for a second, and you get a dumb but autonomous helper creature that kills other players on contact.
3,4 - Incrementally badass helpers
5 - Five seconds, a ghoul that can pass through walls directly to the enemy.
6 - A tank. Can blast its way to the enemy, with reasonable AI, avoids bombs.
