but union bosses here tend to get rich on kickbacks and under-table handshakes rather than acutally representing people.
Is this man actually representing anyone except himself? I would be surprised. It takes a certain type of person to want to lead a union.

he has sort of put himself at the head of all this (in the same way Arthur Scargill did with the miners) as the voice of the Union, which is one thing I don't particularly like about him but that could also be the way the media focusses on him rather than the Union to try to create that distorted view he's an egotistical bloathead.
