# When I worked in a record shop
I answered the phone one day to a 'zany' radio presenter.
In a forrin accent he asked me if I'd heard of 'that song - funky soul brother' and proceded to 'sing' it to me.
He said, 'You must know it - it's hippety-hoppety music'.
I hung up.

# A friend of mine worked in an independent record shop for years.
Specialised in obscure techno and that sort.

Some of the attempts along the lines of "you know the one that goes..." defied belief apparently.
