in an early science lesson our teacher hid a glass tube inside the flow from a running tap...when we went in it was already running so no one knew....then he tells us about 'hard' and 'soft' water......taps the 'flow' with a metal rod and says this is hard water.....we couldn't believe it!...I was 11 then :D
