The sadness here is that I only knew the Viz version.I never much cared for The Dandy/Beano. The only stuff of that kind I liked was the work of Leo Baxendale.

I have an old Dandy annualin which Winker Watson and his chums all put on blackface and did a "Black and White Minstrels" show. Wonder if they've reprinted it recently...
