seems silly to start a new series of games with a shit onepeople had waited this long, why not start from scratch instead of keeping a load of the old crap from previous developers in it?

The game was dead so when Gearbox got it they just made it releasable as a labour of love too.The 'fans' wanted Duke Nukem Forever so they gave it to them. They are starting from scratch I think now but they had all that stuff it was too much to scrap it again seeing as that's what has happened to the game for ever. Lots got done, then scrapped. Then more got done, then scrapped, etc until the company went bust.
