Never in any way at all was she involved in the reproachable candle behaviour of her colleagues and anyway, flames were not mentioned so that's outside the law. Uhhuuhh?

a strange statement to make. i, for one, can imagine it and according to the many media reports i have heard on the subject many others can too.

A good journo doesn't use the language sloppily.
Although I think the poor dear (and possible criminal) may have been under some stress at the time. And hacks (eg me) often find exaggeration hard to resist.
