i could be wrong about this but, shouldn't the fly get bigger when you pull the magnifying glass away?
i guess that even if that were the case the pic woudn't work so well

but I think it can be made to work properly AND look convincing if the rate of change in the fly's size is markedly greater than that of the mag-glass. (just my theory, that is) I hadn't set out to do any of that
