as I recall, I was so desperate for a pair, that I bought a pair the only pair left, which were about 2 sizes too bigthey cost a fortune and I think I wore them once. I think patent shoes came in at around the same time and again I bought a pair that was too small. I must have looked like a technicolour Charlie Chaplin
