I'm sure someone out there has customized a Firebird to some extent, to be a bit like KITT.
The LEDs would be easy, just a case of what kind of computer could be used.

I'm sure that about a third of the owners of third generation Firebirds
have done exactly that.... :) The LEDs would be a doddle, actually. I could have done that with a few LEDs and a few 555 timers when I was at school. I'd have no clue now but frankly if we could figure it out then when we didn't give a toss I'm pretty sure I could figure it now.
The talking would be a bit tougher though. I guess I could program a little computer with a selection of stock phrases and run it through a synthesiser. It wouldn't be quite the same, but it would be *something*, at least.

To be quite honest, when/if I get a car and it isn't a Firebird I'd give it a go. :P
Maybe the 'computer' could be an iPhone, modified to synthesize caller's voices? That would be awesome :D
