That'd be a jigsaw puzzle.

But you're right, it's not a jigsaw. But, y'know, it's a community art project. Broad appeal, accessibility and so on. All the bits fit snugly together, apparently.

# a jigsaw puzzle doesn't need a picture on it to make it a puzzle though
in fact, if there were no picture it would still be a puzzle, but much more difficult ;)
either way, i like the idea and i like this pic.
Will the organisers be ok with your graphic depiction of what i can only assume to be some kind of telekenitic type brain murder?

# Ta for the kind words.
And hey, kids fucking love a spot of telekinetic brain murder, you know that.
Nearly as much as they love direct, out-and-out, brutal physical mutilation with outlandishly oversized Japanese weaponry.

# I'm pretty sure the only requirement is that it's been cut by a jigsaw
My mum had one which was all yellow called "flat banana".

I guess some people enjoy that kind of thing.

# Although these days I wouldn't be surprised if there was a more efficient way of cutting it than using a jigsaw

# that's what i'm thinking, though i really want to be wrong

# The type of saw involved shouldn't detract from the puzzle making
maybe someone should start a company called jigsaw, kind of like how there's a company here called '100% australian beef' which means mcdonalds can say they have 100% australian beef burgers.
