I think anime kinda ground to a halt in about 1996-7. It's become too mainstream now.

its the fact that a lot of anime is poorly made, and heaps on fan service, samey girl characters, tits and ass, and general shite that makes the average anime fan seem like a 12 year old girl.

they seem to have encapsulated this wierd 'pony / unicorn' internet fad that is going around.
Im surprised though - it looks kinda edgy and cartoon networky - not as girly as i was expecting, what with them looking angry most of the time
