i find the tricky thing about working with vanishing points is they need to be in fixed positions outside of the picture's borderand since i tend to work on a3 paper on a tiny folding wooden table there often isn't room to fit them in.
i started a drawing a while back with 3 vanishing points which were drawn on 3 long strips of paper attached to the central sheet kind of like this. it's not an ideal way to work.
