
Lots of R&D work, support, those apple shops look expensive from the outside.
I have no problem with companies making money. That is their sole purpose. Apple are no different. Looking at it I wouldn't be suprised if their was £100 pure profit per device max the real money is made selling you the music and apps. That and you will have to buy a mac because itunes is garbage on the PC.

Proceeds from iTunes would go into "Other". It's not clear where proceeds from apps go, but probably into "Other" - and besides, there is no Earthly way they make the "iPhone" purely 30% of app sales at $1 a pop.
