Yeah, not many people thought BOON upon hearing spoon!
Not many are old enough with heart attacks and cancer and wot not.
To be honest, my first thought upon hearing Spoon was peter kay hoofing that football in the John Smiths ad, But I think that use of the word Spoon was local to me.

spoon used as a mild insult?
I still use that for low level shouting, usually at children or slow people.

Spoon meant bending a football unintentionally.
Usually consisting of "meh.. Spoon!" then the insertion of ones tongue inbetween your lower teeth and lower lip, Usually punctuated with an insulting sound.
