# There is a bit of tradition about this, but confused.
The Roaring 20's, (or sometimes '20s) for example, is quite commonly used here in Merika.
There is no standard usage rules I can find. this link seems to show some difference between UK and US rules
Could it be that the interpretation is that the years belong to the decade?
The St. Martin's Guide to Writing, 5th Ed seems to favor the apostrophe.
