There doesn't have to be a reason, it's rather niceand reminds me of my first joystick. I was a right demon with a joystick, then joypads usurped them as the main controller of choice and my skillz were lost forever :*(

I have a dreamwhereby there's a huge computer game championship featuring modern games I've never seen or heard of (I pretty much gave up gaming in the 90s) and I walk in and the crowd stop and stare:
"What's that he's got in his hand?"
"It looks like a crappy early 90s joystick!"
and I calmly plug it in and manage to beat all the professionals as if I was a Kevin Costner character or something.
