I like the older stuff where you can see influences on what came later.Like the giant airships that kind of leaked through into Laputa.
That trailer for Whisper of the Heart on all the DVDs is extraordinary for the little references and cross-over of motifs to the other films, even though the film itself is a simple modern story of young relationships. A shame the director didn't get to do any more, on account of his premature promotion to full time daisy pusher-upperer.
