But it is better than wasting our time on a baseless mythical fairy story, it gives life less worth if you think you get another go hence bomb filled underpants, just imagine if we had put all the effort that has gone into churches and religion into science? We would have hover boards by now :-(

that said, those brief periods of existential uncertainty and fear of mortality are horrible, especially at night. the phrase "bomb filled underpants" is making me smile, though :)

Tim minchin says alot of good stuff about this ^ he was on desert island discs the other day and he put it better than i ever could, we are so insignificant in the universe that it is amazing that we exist at all, when i think about that i smile.

That everything that happens good or bad, is 'something/someone else is responsible for'. God/Satan is not like some vending machine you put prayers in and you get a free ticket to Heaven out. Personal responsibility please. I know this is blindingly simplified and hard to explain, but I have real trouble when people blame things on/attribute things to the actions of some all-seeing omnipotent deity. I'd better stop now.
