Any image challenge that averages less than ten pics per day is never a good sign.I also think the X Factor voting should be replaced by the old system - where a mod looks at the most popular choices, takes into consideration what's going on in the world, and just tells us what it is.
It won't stop the moaning, but it will prevent the vote being steered into dead ends by those that never actually take part.
