On the same theme, I remember years ago noticing that
Climbing Up the Walls by Radiohead is, almost note-for-note, a minor key version of Weather with You by Crowded House, even down to similar lyrics in the chorus (with the exception of the "Things ain't cooking..." pre-chorus).
I sometimes wonder if songwriters sometimes subconsciously reproduce each other's work...

That's terribly subtle, if it was the intention to have a similar sound to the other.
Another example I just remembered is DJ Falcon and Thomas Bangalter's "Together" and the 90210 theme. I dunno if it's sampled or not though. Doesn't sound it. If it is a sample, they've heavily modified it.
