# I Googled drugs in comics and that's what came up
I didn't go any further - the second frame above disturbed me enough - animal cruelty?!).

Just saw your Commando post - awesome! I loved those comics as a kid 'Come on Derek, we'll get those huns yet!'...

# Most peculiar. Maybe it was one of those Just Say No type campaigns to keep kids off the smack?
And cheers! I personally never read Commando, but the collection of covers I was going through were simply amazing. :D

# I think they're still going
I haven't read any for years, but they were about as patriotic as it gets in the U.K. (apart from the Olympics and Mo and all that).

# I think they are; only now could you charge £1.35 for a comic.
And they definitely do seem very patriotic. There was another comic I was looking at called WARLORD, and there's a character in it called Union Jack Jackson.

I wonder if anyone told him it's only called a Union Jack if it's flown from a boat.

# He he!
Does he look like this:

What a specimen!

# He wore a helmet with a UK flag on the front, and was known as UJJ to the Americans.

I may give this one a good 'shopping; I saw some ace covers before.

# Do one of Killer Kane
I like the sound of Killer Kane.

# There's a lot of really awesome sounding British comics from the 60s to 70s.
I may have to dig deeper, see if I find anything perfect for 'shopping.

# "It's only a Union Jack if it's flown from a ship" is officially the most tedious trivia nugget in the world ever

# You're more likely to be eaten by a shark than die in a plane crash.
THAT is tedious.

EDIT: And happy candles! :D

# What if you are a pilot who never flies over water or ever goes swimming?
ta! :)

# I think it still applies.
One of your passengers will be a shark.

# Actually, I think a piece from your 'On this day' page tops it:
'Prince William passes three A-levels and secures a place to study history of art at the oldest university in Scotland, St Andrews.'

Prince William, on this day in 2000 no less, passed three A Levels (out of where, it doesn't say). Now, is there anyone on this planet who needs A-Levels less? To study history of art? Did he need them to get in? Surely an heir to the thrown can go where he likes? Thanks BBC.

Happy candles, btw!!

# To be honest, a history of art A level is probably as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike to the working populace
Ta for your candles grats :)
