After 10-15 years of only having reel-to-reel tape or LP vinyl Zappa (no cassettes)I was sort of happy that he did eventually release CDs in any form! There were some obvious problems with the early discs but eventually it was all worked out. I don't have every version of every FZ release, but I do have a lot of 'em. I think my musical memory adjusts when I listen to different versions...
For being such twisted and bizarre music, it has sort of been the soundtrack for much of my life.

MTV was not the arbiter of stylein my circles. I did like that Art of Noise "Close to the Edit" and I have seen many shows by The Residents ( early MTV fodder when they had nothing else to show,) but for the most part MTV was just background noise.
