# i have been eating curry
but i may well be drinking tonight, depending on if this fucking toothache won't piss off

# Got any whiskey?
It really helps numb toothache, you don't even actually have to drink it (though seems rude not to). Just get a swig and keep it in the affected area as long as you can; it really helps.

# i won't have whisky in the house
as it makes me violently ill. even the smell makes me queasy, which is sad, as i know it works :(

# Perhaps other strong booze works?
I'm sure Absinthe would, but you have put up with a little mental illness. I inherited my Dad's whisky collection when he died a few years back. He was trying to collect every Single Malt ever made, and did pretty well. It is now slightly less of a collection than it was...

# absinthe is nice and probably would work
but, as payday is 9 days away, i've a feeling it'll be cheap cider.

# I would strongly advise
not cider except to booze on, not to hold on the tooth. Too much sugar.

# good point

# After suffering a broken jaw,
I am an expert on toothache.

# ow, fuck!
a broken nose is bad enough! i've had infected abscesses, had to have one tooth split in half and chiseled out of my jaw and more than one root canal, but nothing close to a broken jaw!

# I have never known
pain like it (and I watched Eastenders once). Don't read on if squeamish. When it happened, my mouth was open an inch, but the teeth were still touching on one side. It was broken in 3 places, on both sides across the wisdom teeth (so they were removed at the same time) and one break nearer the front. Every tooth was wrapped in wire and fixed to the one above/below it, so the whole mouth was wired shut. (How people cheered!).
But you try sneezing. It is like attempting to extract every tooth in your head, at the same time, without anesthetic. For over a month.

Edit: Oh, and there is the constant thought that if you vomit: You die.

# squeamish?
you're talking to a woman who had her eyelids sewn to her face while holes were drilled in her skull. that said, think i'd prefer to give the broken jaw a miss.

# Ew!
That sounds pretty nasty too. When my 'incident' happened I also had a semi-detached retina and blood in my other eye, so couldn't speak or see to get help. I literally crawled to my neighbours. Thank god they were home; I'd lost so much blood I had to replace the carpet.

# i was lucky, really
mine was all birth defects, so it didn't hurt. just had shitloads of surgery in london and tiny little dents in my head are all you can see now.

# I suppose I was lucky
considering where it could have ended. I'm still as good as blind in one eye, but that saves me a fortune in watching 3D films. No scars though, although my jaw aches in cold weather.

# join the club with the eye thing

where Quint and Hooper compare scars....and im chief Brody

# I have a couple of dents in my skull from surgery too..
.. From where they bolted my heat to the table as they removed the bone covering the spinal cord c5/c6/c7, moved the cord 'out of the way' while they chiselled off the bony growth that was crushing the aforementioned spinal cord. A bit of fettling to the removed bone, wire it back in place - semi wake the patient (me) before closing up to see if I could still move my arms and bob's you uncle! By the way, the growth was from previous surgery to fuse c5/c6/c7 as the discs were, to quote the surgeon 'buggered beyond repair'. That time they went in from the front of my neck. 22 clips to hold the wound shut too.
TL;DR
I have some great scars on my neck.
