# Ew!
That sounds pretty nasty too. When my 'incident' happened I also had a semi-detached retina and blood in my other eye, so couldn't speak or see to get help. I literally crawled to my neighbours. Thank god they were home; I'd lost so much blood I had to replace the carpet.

# i was lucky, really
mine was all birth defects, so it didn't hurt. just had shitloads of surgery in london and tiny little dents in my head are all you can see now.

# I suppose I was lucky
considering where it could have ended. I'm still as good as blind in one eye, but that saves me a fortune in watching 3D films. No scars though, although my jaw aches in cold weather.

# I have a couple of dents in my skull from surgery too..
.. From where they bolted my heat to the table as they removed the bone covering the spinal cord c5/c6/c7, moved the cord 'out of the way' while they chiselled off the bony growth that was crushing the aforementioned spinal cord. A bit of fettling to the removed bone, wire it back in place - semi wake the patient (me) before closing up to see if I could still move my arms and bob's you uncle! By the way, the growth was from previous surgery to fuse c5/c6/c7 as the discs were, to quote the surgeon 'buggered beyond repair'. That time they went in from the front of my neck. 22 clips to hold the wound shut too.
TL;DR
I have some great scars on my neck.
