Apparently 'Man up' is in that new list of inappropriate terms that Liverpool FC have produced for stewards to police in crowds (yes because that'll be highly effective)They have it filed as sexist. I've always used this term on the basis of age/maturity than it being a gender thing. I think it's perfectly possible for a woman to man up while remaining, in every important sense, female.
