
they need approaching differently. if i were comparing the film to the book i would have to say it is shit and would not inspire me to seek out the book, had i not read it, which would be a shame. but as a film it's like, y'know, alright.
edit: ha, guess i could say the same for '84 and hitchhikers, which i discovered at about the same time book wise.

It seemed like a reasonable interpretation of the book, you know like a good attempt if not the best possible realisation of it, but I don't think a film version could ever really do the book justice. The book is just too good for reasons that make it unfilmable.
