Really?My problem wasn't with foistware or malware, it was just that Filezilla didn't work any more. It seemed to sign in to the remote servers, but couldn't make a remote directory listing, so it was impossible to continue.

Yes.But it seems Sourceforge download who you would think is safe has been compromised Edit. Sourceforge seem to be adding this crap. Scumbags.
