# Have you ever used a pen and paper? It's like that. ;p
If you do a lot of freehand work your productivity will go through the roof. I couldn't get much done without one.
Don't go for anything smaller than a5 drawing area though, that's a false investment

How does it work? Does the pen need to touch the pad continuously for the cursor? Do you press a button or something to 'draw'? And by free hand, do you mean just like drawing a picture from scratch? Like real pen and paper? Because I don't, but might if I could with a tablet, but then again, might not. I struggle enough using photoshop things on a 5inch smartphone :( when I don't really need to...

make contact when you want to draw

you get used to it very quickly
