I always go for Acorn Electron stuffif I want something from that period as that is what I used to have so it has the nostalgia value. Not sure I could tell the difference, however.

I had an Electron,Parents couldn't afford to drop the cash on a BBC Micro, and I didn't want a speccy or C64...
Plenty of Beebs to hack the fuck out of at school, though (I seriously pwned the school network and was going online, via BBSs, on them).

If 32KB of memory serves me right,the one and only difference was Mode 7, the BBC Teletext mode. Electrons didn't have it, BBC Micros did.

Nah, big difference in memory access contention from cheaper circuitry designThe picture generation on the Electron tied up the memory way more than on the Beeb, slowing down any code running on it, particularly anything redrawing graphics.
