You'd be right to think that you would find a hinge on a motorboat, a new car or a silver tea set. But you'd also find a hinge in Hinge and Bracket who threw things into a bin, probably. A ceramic bin with dust on, maybe, or maybe it's cockney rhyming slang....bins could mean cockney glasses and you would need them to see a motorboat, a new car or a silver tea set, but ceramic, rhymes a bit with triptych which is defined as "a work, such as an altarpiece, consisting of three painted or carved panels that are hinged together".
