If they could make a compact, solar powered, closed cycle cooled system datacentre to work in space, they could do it on Earth for considerably less money.They don't because they can't.
There are several good reasons not to put datacentres in space apart from the cost and unfeasible engineering problems.
There are several good reasons not to allow the construction of datacentres on Earth, too.
Best case scenario: when the AI bubble bursts a lot of them (especially the perpetually unfinished ones) could be quickly converted into industrial scale greenhouses.
