# I like the idea of the Euro
but the name is so... dull.

Why don't they just bring in a decimal version of the old Roman currency, the Librum? Obviously the the symbol of the united currency would have to be a cursive L with a stroke through it, but I'm sure we could find an ASCII character to represent that.

# that would make the nordic people angry
there's two main cultures in europe you know. germanics and romanics :)

# Don't say that
You'll make the Hellenics angry.
Edit: And the Slavs, and the Irish... Anyway, almost all predecimal scandinavian and teutonic currencies were descended from the librum. It's not an entirely daft idea.
