As I understand it ...... it's all down to some dodgy additive which used to be put into dog food. The UK has banned it but I guess other countries still use it.
I'm sure the internet knows best though.
EDIT: So far the internet thinks that it had something to do with bone-meal in dog food (not so 'dodgy' really).
