# yesterday, i wanted to be a primary school teacher, in a tiny rural infant school with about twelve kids in the school.
but i don't like kids!

# which is why everyone should go to see
Etre et Avoir, because it's just so nice. except it's not for everyone, as proved my the fact that my mate didn't like it and slept through part.

# You said it's a documentary, but what about?
Chances are it's on in an independent cinema near me

# it was about a primary school in rural northern france
with twelve or so kids and just one teacher, who was just a really special man, and it was his last year before retirement. and it was just plain nice and made me very cheerful.

# Ah, hence the rural-primary-school-twelve-kids-per-class+French feelings.
I might just look out for it.

# thus the advantage of only having 12 kids to look after
instead of 40 like most teachers

# 12 !!?
I've only got the one and she's more than enough to handle!

# it wasn't just that,
these kids were just normal kids, and they all got on so well, and the teacher was just a really great bloke, and he got on so well with the kids, and it was just plain lovely. and i thought, yeah, i could do that, with really young kids, when you can still get through to them.

# it wasn't just that..
Now that's the type of person we WANT teaching our kids. I'm so sick of older teachers who have grown disillusioned with the idea of teaching. (NOT all older teachers are like this, but some are.) My daughter had the same teacher for grade four, that I had for grade two, and she was a changed woman, it was sad really...
