that's when part 2 of the plan kicks inman will never admit defeat but may buy a new dyson or similar on the basis of 'there's no point me fixing that one, it's crap anyway'.

It can backfire -Men have a tolerence to dirty carpets, women it seems don't. You may well find yourself hopping down the shops to buy a new dyson hoover after a month or so of, "Yeah sure I will go just after the footie/documentry/pub vist etc etc
