hard to sayin the olden days vacuum cleaners were powerful enough to despatch with even frozen puppies. they had to power them down because whole villages would go missing as soon as someone turned one on.
[edit: I've just been informed that the first ever vacuum cleaner was so powerful that it destroyed the earth, and the earth had to be rebuilt.]
