
... but to plug it back in every time would require disconnecting the IDE cables (they are directly above the pins, and get in the way) which I think Windows would complain about a bit more ;)

Still a hassle though, looks like I'll just have to live with it until my next scheduled reformat.

fit a switch to the front of your machine which does the connecting/disconnecting, a nice big one.
