is pronounced Aidan though, I guess there may be an historic argument for the pronunciation but the modern gaelic way is Aidan. With the á there is also an argument for making it sound 'Avawn' but having asked people over the water the populist spelling/pronounciation these days is what we are doing. The arguement is a bit like arguing over the pronunciation of Latin.
