when i was at UMIST, there was a famous bowling green in the middle of the campusone night someone poured weedkiller or similar on it, try to spell out the name of the place in massive letters. but science students being what they are, for the next month or so the green had 20 foot high letters burnt into it spelling out "UMST". someone later went back and put an "i" into it...
