[Pedant note - I just checked - the plural of armadillo is indeed like so, without an e - unlike tomatoes or potatoes. What a weird language this is.]
{Even more pedantic edit: On the other hand, the Oxford Dictionary for Writers and Editors says the plural of peccadillo is peccadilloes. I give up.}

But I sabotaged them all. I've been plotting to overthrow the evil reign of the Armadillos for a very long time.
I always thought it was armadilli.
;)
Thinking about it - it's probably without the e because it's a Spanish word that came over here without being fully absorbed into the lingo like potato or tomato.
