How does one pronounce 'meme'?

What does it rhyme with?

I always read it at "meem"

so it sounds like 'dream' and 'bream'.

I suppose that technically, in the English language

a vowel, consonant and 'e' arrangement places a long stress upon the vowel.

For example, 'man' to 'mane' or 'plan' to 'plane'.
