would rather not be reminded that we had to scrounge a fiver so I didn't run out of electricity and buy some bread, to go with the only thing left in my freezer (which happened to be sausages).

I'm sure you love the once-a-year chance to appease your conscience by donating, but I don't particularly enjoy being made to feel guilty for having no fucking money to donate.
