# because in the beginning there was the big bang
after that came stars. in stars hydrogen undergoes fusion into helium (and produces vast amounts of EM radiation etc etc). if the star is big enough eventually this helium will start to fuse etc, and then the products of that will fuse until iron is produced. when this happens the star blows up. the stuff from this explosion goes on to make planets (and incidentally other stars), including earth. hence all the materials on earth, and all the life that subsequently evolved from this is quite literally made from what was once stars - hence star dust.

duh...

# one of the best lines
of all time, ever.

edit - along with the footnote of something along the lines of "...erotica*... *Nothing kinky mind. It's the difference between using a feather and using the whole chicken"...classic :)
