but it is the appaling sense that somehow I, or anyone is meant to relate to it.

Especially when they pop up the helpline numbers after a 'poignant' episode involving rape/murder/homosexuality.

I seeth with rage over the way it effectively smothers peoples abilities to react and stunts the effect of real life to many people, making really tragic events merely a conversational piece or worse, entertainment.

Fuck me.

How many of those calls would simply have been generated from a standard ad?
