I hope that wasn't ArnieDo lions and meerkats even live in the same environment, or have I done a Polar bear with a penguin type boo boo?

Well, Meerkats largely live in the Kalahari Desert of South AfricaAnd I reckon there's lions there.
If there isn't, then they won't be too far away - I'm positive SA has lions.
So no, you've not made a biological booboo.
